Permanent Makeup
- Any cosmetic botox and injectables should be done three weeks prior to the appointment or two weeks after your permanent makeup service.
- Discontinue / stop using skin thinners (AHA, Retinol, Vitamin A, Glycolic Acids, exfoliators) anywhere near the treatment area.
- Waxing, brow shaping (not necessary) should be done at least two days prior.
- Brow laminations and tinting should be done one week prior if desired.
- DO NOT consume any blood thinners 48 hours prior to any PMU procedures such as alcohol, caffeine, pain medications such as ibuprofen, aspirin, niacin, fish oil pills. This WILL cause excess bleeding during the appointment and could affect your results.
- If you are getting a Lip Blush service and have ever in your life had a cold sore, you must take antiviral medication as the doctor says before and after the procedure to prevent a break out.
- If you have any moles, blemishes, sores around the treatment area we will not be able to tattoo over and will work around.
- Though our Permanent Makeup Services are not meant to be painful whatsoever, please let your artist know your concerns and if you are nervous about it. Artists are able to numb you for longer periods of time if needed, but you must specify so your artist can include extra numbing processing time to your appointment.
- For brow appointments, you are allowed to wear brow makeup if you would like to show your artist what you are used to and like, but artists will include their professional opinions as well at your appointment.
- Try to plan your PMU appointments around your menstrual cycle if possible since it can cause some hypersensitivity and more pain near or on the treatment area.
- For Lip Blush services, please bring your favorite lip tints, lipsticks, lip products to help your artist choose your lip color accurately.
Every appointment with you includes an after care kit with all that you need to perfect the healing process. Following your after care instructions for the full 10 day healing process will help maximize your healed results and color retention. Results vary for all individuals and can not guarantee your results.
- For eyebrow PMU services, you will blot the brows either using an antiseptic wipe or your ink soap rinse provided to you in an after care bag 30 minutes post procedure and again two hours later. This is to blot off excess lymph and plasma fluid to prevent scabbing for an easy & breezy healing. Normal care as instructed begins before bed that first night.
- Twice a day, morning and night blot the brows using a cotton pad with 1 -2 pumps of the Ink Soap foam after care rinse and gently pat. Be sure to get under natural brow hairs to make sure the whole area is sterile. Once clean, apply a pea size / rice size amount of ointment to each brow carefully using a Q-tip or completely clean fingers. The amount of ointment applied should have a chapstick finish not gloss. If so, blot off excess ointment so the brows can breathe.
- You will receive either an oil based aftercare ointment or a water based from your artist depending on your skin type.
- Please know all permanent makeup services are a two step process and require patience during the 10 day healing processes. With this being said, please do not expect 100% retention after your first treatment session.
- Post Permanent Makeup services, Microblading, Nano Brows, Lip Blushing, and Eyeliner, the treatment area will appear more vivid and dark immediately after your procedure. This can last up to two weeks.
- Around day 4 – 5 flaking on the treatment area will occur. Some areas more than others. Please be sure not to pick at the flaking and let them come off naturally as you apply your aftercare ointments to avoid any scarring.
- As the gentle flaking comes off, brow strokes and pigmentation may appear to be lighter and more faint. Once fully healed after 3/4 weeks the color will look more vibrant again.
- Brows, Lips and Eyeliner may feel a little itchy during the healing process. If you have received Lip Blushing, it is important to avoid any spicy or acidic foods for a few days after your procedure.
- Not all clients have the same retention with Permanent Makeup Services. For more mature skin and more oily skin types, results may be a little less defined than someone with dry skin type and is below the age of 50.
